CREATE GOALS & BALANCE IN YOUR DAILY LIFE

PARENT COACHING Designed forSkill Building & bringing back Joy‍ ‍

You’re tired of the power struggles & want to create clear boundaries with empathy.

Coaching is a safe, non-judgmental space to express your emotions.

Between the ages of 3 and 5, children are in a discovery stage. They are developing greater independence, empathy, and social confidence. They are forming friendships and understanding basic social rules. They seek independence and move towards becoming more self-sufficient, which leads to pushing buttons and testing boundaries. While these behaviors are developmentally appropriate it can also be exhausting and challenging for the parent. Each child has their own temperament.

At Happy Nest, the goal is to bridge the gap between age-appropriate behavior and socially acceptable habits. Through coaching we unpack the power struggles and emotional hurdles that leave you feeling drained. This is your safe place to be transparent and self-aware. By modeling the respect and clarity you want to see in your child, you’ll set the stage for successful goal attainment and a deeper, more joyful bond.

FAQs

  • Parent Coaching is a collaborative partnership designed to help parents navigate the complexities of challenging behaviors with confidence and clarity. Coaching focuses on skill building, actionable strategies and goal setting. Unlike therapy, which often focuses on healing past and present trauma, coaching is goal-oriented and focused on the present and future. While parent coaching is deeply supportive, it is not a substitute for mental health therapy, counseling, or medical advice.

  • Your progress will depend on how well your child responds to change, and your commitment. We will be practicing new skills and strategies. If you are consistent in applying the techniques, you should see some improvement within 2-3 weeks. More complex behavioral issues may take 1-3 months, depending on the behavior. Keep in mind that the timeline may vary for each family. Although coaching practices include goal setting, I practice a sensitive and respectful approach that is considerate of some families needing more time to achieve long lasting results.

  • A family navigating an Individualized Learning Plan (IEP) can absolutely benefit from coaching. Coaching offers a bridge between home and school. The coach becomes part of the child’s and the parent’s support team. Coaches can observe the home environment and suggest subtle shifts in communication, routine (e.g. transitions, home routines) or physical space that will help the child succeed at home and school. Coaching can help parents organize their observations and data so they can walk into school or IEP meetings as confident , equal partners prepared to advocate for their child.

  • The standard coaching process includes four essential action steps:

The “Right Fit” initial 20 minute free consultation

Observation & Analysis: using behavioral observations or video reviews to understand current dynamics and parent-child interactions in the natural home environment

Assessment(s): Identifying specific challenges such as behavioral concerns, school readiness goals, social emotional milestones, and potential behavioral triggers.

Actionable Strategies: The action plan is tailored to your family’s unique needs and your child’s current developmental stage. If your child has an IEP we will include strategies to support the IEP goals.

Accountability: The Parent and coach will schedule regular check-ins to review findings, collaborate, refine techniques, adjust the action plan, and celebrate progress.
